Milan, June 1 (LaPresse) – In April, the unemployment rate in the euro area stood at 6.3%, unchanged from the previous month and from April of last year. In the European Union, the unemployment rate was 6%, also unchanged from March and from April 2025. This was reported by Eurostat. The statistical office of the European Union estimates that 13.238 million people were unemployed in the EU in April, of whom 11.075 million were in the euro area. Compared with March, unemployment decreased by 137,000 people in the European Union and by 84,000 in the euro area. On an annual basis, unemployment increased by 82,000 people in the European Union and by 45,000 in the euro area.
