Turin, 13 July (LaPresse) – “No to blanket measures” in the event of a new, prolonged crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, “I prefer targeted measures for businesses and lower-income households. But it will depend on events; nothing can be ruled out”. So said Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, in an interview with ‘Repubblica’ regarding fuel prices, which have started to rise again. “The markets are bracing themselves for a situation of prolonged instability: OPEC is increasing production and alternative routes are being strengthened. But the world we live in is marked by conflict, unpredictability and uncertainty. We must reduce our dependence on foreign sources and focus on strategic autonomy, starting with electricity and critical raw materials,” he added. “Will I put pressure on the oil companies again? Everyone needs to act responsibly. However, should prices at source rise significantly due to shipping blockades, we will adopt effective and timely measures, as we have already done.”
