Milan, July 13 (LaPresse) – “Intesa Sanpaolo is providing further support for the development of renewable energy in the United States. The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, led by Mauro Micillo, has participated in the financing of three new energy projects in Texas and California that will help expand renewable power generation and energy storage capacity in two of the country’s most important energy markets. In California, the IMI CIB Division joined a syndicate of banks in providing financing totaling approximately USD 5 billion for the Darden project, developed by IPX Power in the Central Valley. Built on former agricultural land, the Darden project will be capable, once completed, of generating up to 1.15 GWac / 1.6 GWp of solar power and will include a 4.6 GWh energy storage system. Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2028,” Intesa Sanpaolo said in a statement. The statement continued: “IPX Power is an independent power producer that develops, owns and operates large-scale clean energy infrastructure. The IMI CIB Division also participated in a USD 382 million syndicated financing in Texas for the Pepper Solar and Lucky 7 Solar projects developed by Sabanci Renewables. The two photovoltaic plants, located in McLennan and Hopkins counties respectively, will have a combined capacity of 286 MWp and are expected to enter commercial operation by the end of 2027.”
