(LaPresse) – “The European Commission’s approval of the proposed revision to the PNRR enables the Government to bolster strategic investments in order to further align the Plan with the nation’s evolving needs, to support – with approximately €2.5 billion – the competitiveness of the production system, improve the energy efficiency of social housing (ERP), reduce households’ energy costs, and strengthen strategic infrastructure such as the water and rail sectors. This significant achievement is the result of intensive, collaborative work with the relevant ministries, Parliament and, above all, the European Commission, whom I would like to thank for the positive, constructive and pragmatic approach that has always characterised our discussions, and for working with the Government to adopt effective solutions in the exclusive interest of the nation.” This was stated by the Minister for European Affairs, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and Cohesion Policies, Tommaso Foti, following the European Commission’s positive assessment of the proposed revision to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which was approved by the PNRR Steering Committee on 3 June and presented by the Minister himself to the Budget and European Union Policies Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The approval process for the revision will be completed by the end of August with the adoption, by written procedure, of the Implementing Decision of the Council of the European Union.
