Milan, 19 Aug. (LaPresse) – From next week, adverts will appear on the free version of ChatGPT. This was announced by OpenAI. “Next week, ChatGPT Ads will roll out across 31 European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Austria. Initially, advertisers will be able to access ChatGPT Ads via the OpenAI Ads Solutions team, partner agencies and technology partners. Self-service access via Ads Manager will become available later this summer. Ads help advance our mission to democratise access to the best artificial intelligence, by enabling free or low-cost access to ChatGPT. As in the markets where we are already present, ads will only be shown to users on the Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro and Enterprise subscriptions will remain ad-free,” reads a statement. “ “This expansion offers marketing professionals across Europe a new way to reach people whilst they are actively exploring, comparing and making decisions,” explains the company, adding that “ChatGPT Ads offers marketing professionals the opportunity to reach people throughout the customer journey as they explore and evaluate available options, as well as being useful at moments that drive discovery, influence decisions and lead to purchase” . “Guided by OpenAI’s advertising principles, we ensure the confidentiality of conversations from advertisers and never sell customer data. Ads on ChatGPT are always clearly labelled and separated from ChatGPT’s responses, and advertising does not influence the responses provided by ChatGPT. Users also have control over ad personalisation, with ad-free paid plans available for those who prefer not to see them”, the statement continues.
