Milan, 26 August (LaPresse) – In the first six months of 2026, €9.9 billion in allowances were paid out to households, on top of the €19.8 billion paid in 2025. These figures are contained in the update from the Statistical Observatory on the Universal Child Allowance (AUU) published today, covering the period January 2025 to June 2026. A total of 6,095,716 households received the benefit in 2026, covering a total of 9,613,178 children: the average amount per child in June 2026, including applicable supplements, stood at 175 euros, ranging from around 58 euros for those who do not submit an ISEE or exceed the maximum threshold (which for 2026 is 46,582.71 euros), to 227 euros for the lowest ISEE bracket (17,468.51 euros for 2026).
