Milan, 18 Sept. (LaPresse) – Isybank, Intesa Sanpaolo’s digital bank, together with OffiCine-IED and in collaboration with Mastercard, has launched the “Film Competition for New Writers” to offer young Italian screenwriters and emerging writers an opportunity for training and access to the world of cinema. The initiative, presented at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, is aimed at aspiring filmmakers aged 35 and under, who may submit their film projects in one of two categories: feature film and arthouse short film. The jury comprises Carolina Crescentini, Matteo Oscar Giuggioli, Edoardo Leo, Doriana Leondeff, Bruno Oliviero and Silvio Soldini. The finalists will be announced on 30 November during the 44th Turin Film Festival, whilst the winners will be announced in December. From January 2027, the selected filmmakers will take part in advanced training workshops led by director Bruno Oliviero. For the feature film section, the programme will be carried out under the artistic supervision of Oscar-winner Paolo Sorrentino, with the aim of producing a professional screenplay to be presented to production companies. For the short film section, artistic supervision will be provided by Silvio Soldini. The programme will culminate in the drafting of the screenplay and the subsequent production of the short film by OffiCine-IED. The initiative builds on the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s commitment to supporting the film and audiovisual industry. Since 2009, Intesa Sanpaolo has provided around €4 billion to companies in the audiovisual sector, contributing to the production of over 750 works, including films and television series. Isybank will be accepting applications for the “Film Competition for Emerging Filmmakers” until 15 October via its website.
