Milan, 30 Sept. (LaPresse) – Neva SGR, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s venture capital firm, wholly owned by the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre, held its Annual Meeting in Turin today, entitled ‘Connecting Innovation to Growth’. Neva SGR – according to a press release – brought together investors, entrepreneurs, managers, institutions and representatives of the innovation ecosystem from around the world at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni to present the results of six years’ activity and discuss innovative solutions to major global challenges that venture capital can support, ranging from climate change to energy efficiency, from the new frontiers of life sciences to digital transformation, and from opportunities in the space economy to the most advanced production technologies. Following opening remarks by the Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo, Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, and the Chairman of Neva SGR, Luca Remmert, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Neva SGR, Mario Costantini, outlined the performance of the funds, the company’s investment activities and its growth prospects. From August 2020 to the present, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in the first two years and the changing geopolitical landscape, Neva SGR has raised a total of €600 million in capital, managed through its six venture capital funds: Neva First, Neva First Italia, Fondo SEI Sviluppo Ecosistemi di Innovazione, Neva II, Neva II Italia and Fondo Neva II Parallelo Lombardia. Through its funds, Neva SGR has so far invested €273 million in over 50 highly innovative companies in Italy and abroad, as well as in Italian funds dedicated to the development of innovation, realising approximately €55 million from exits (sales of shareholdings following their appreciation).
