Rome, 2 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Council of Ministers has given the green light to the Public Finance Policy Document (DPFP), which replaces the Nadef. This was announced by the Minister for the Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, at a press conference following the Council of Ministers meeting. The document, he explained, comes at a time that is particularly complex in many respects. “Making forecasts is becoming increasingly difficult. We are confirming the spending path that was set out in the plans.” The request to Parliament “to activate the NEC” was also approved; this discount is quantified for 2027 at 0.3 per cent for energy and 0.3 per cent for security, with a similar forecast for 2028. “We have revised the figure for 2026 to 1 per cent, up from the original conservative estimate of 0.6 per cent; the planned growth rate stands at 0.8 per cent in 2027, 0.9 per cent in 2028 and 0.8 per cent in 2029,” added the Minister for the Economy and Finance.
