Fuel, Salvini: “Cutting excise duties with additional VAT revenue remains under consideration”

Rome, Oct. 7 (LaPresse) – “Although the data from recent days appear to show an initial reversal of the trend compared with the peaks recorded in previous weeks, the possibility of extending the measures to reduce excise duties through the use of the additional VAT revenue estimated for September is still under consideration, by decree of the Ministry of Economy in agreement with the Ministry of the Environment.” Infrastructure and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said this in response to a question during Question Time in the Chamber of Deputies concerning the increase in the cost of diesel fuel for road freight transport.
