Rome, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – ITA Airways and the trade unions have reached an agreement on voluntary redundancies. ITA Airways itself has announced this, noting that an agreement has been signed with the trade unions and professional associations as part of the procedure initiated under Law 223/1991. The agreement stipulates that “the redundancies will apply exclusively to employees who formally declare that they have no objection, thereby confirming the voluntary nature of the process”. For employees who opt in, “the income support measures set out in current legislation will apply, including access to Naspi for up to 24 months and a supplement from the Air Transport Solidarity Fund (FSTA) of up to 80 per cent of the average reference salary”. In addition to these measures – as explained – there will be “a company incentive, varying according to the timing of departure, paid as a lump sum, which will bring the total financial compensation up to 90–92 per cent of the reference salary for the period during which Naspi is received”. Furthermore, “travel concessions with Ita Airways will be maintained in accordance with the provisions of the agreement”.
