France: Gérard Depardieu on trial for harassing 2 women

Milan, 24 Mar. (LaPresse) – French actor Gérard Depardieu will have to answer charges in a Paris court for sexually assaulting two women during the filming of a movie in 2021. Depardieu is accused of groping a decorator and a director's assistant during the production of the film ‘Les Volets Verts’ (‘The Green Shutters’, ed.). Prosecutors allege that the incidents included lewd comments and inappropriate touching, including an episode in which Depardieu allegedly used his legs to trap one of the women before groping her in front of other crew members. The identities of both women have not been revealed to protect the alleged victims of sexual assault. The 76-year-old actor denies the allegations.
