Venice 82: waiting for the Golden Lion, French thriller “Chien 51” closing film

Venice, 6 September (LaPresse) – It’s a tense wait in Venice ahead of the final evening of the International Film Festival. Starting at 7 p.m., the winners of the various competitions will be announced, including the overall winner of the prestigious Golden Lion for Best Film. The winner will be decided by a jury chaired by American director and screenwriter Alexander Payne and composed of: French director and screenwriter Stéphane Brizé; Italian director and screenwriter Maura Delpero; Romanian director, screenwriter and producer Cristian Mungiu; Iranian director and writer Mohammad Rasoulof; Brazilian actress, writer and screenwriter Fernanda Torres; and Chinese actress Zhao Tao. In the afternoon, the closing film of the festival will be screened, the thriller “Chien 51” by French director Cédric Jimenez. The cast includes Gilles Lellouche, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Louis Garrel, Romain Duris, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and former Daft Punk musician Thomas Bangalter, among others.
