TV, Iacchetti: ‘Mizrahi? I don’t shake hands with people who call me a fascist.’

Rome, 9 October (LaPresse) – ‘I can’t shake hands with someone who calls me a “child” and a fascist. He should just leave me alone. In fact, he avoided being reported for condoning a crime because he called me a fascist. If he apologises, I’ve forgiven a lot of people, but he has to take responsibility for his actions.’ This is what Enzo Iacchetti said on Radio2’s “Stai Serena” programme, referring to his TV argument with Eyal Mizrahi. ‘If the world had not taken action, Netanyahu’s plan would have been to eliminate the Palestinian people,’ explained Iacchetti regarding the tragedy in Gaza, while expressing scepticism about the recent agreement. ‘I don’t have much faith in this peace plan,’ he said, ‘because there has been talk of interests, of Israel, America and gas. Where will the Palestinians go? Will they be protected? No. The big news is that young people are not stupid: millions of them have taken to the streets.’
