Rome, Jan. 5 (LaPresse) – Actor Mickey Rourke, 73, facing eviction from his rented home in Los Angeles, turned to GoFundMe to pay $59,100 in rent owed. Launched early Sunday morning with his “full permission,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, the crowdfunding campaign “Support Mickey to Prevent Eviction” urges fans to “help Mickey Rourke stay in his home.” “Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home,” reads the description of the GoFundMe campaign. “Life doesn’t always run smoothly, and despite everything Mickey has given with his work and his life, he is now facing a difficult financial time that has put his home at risk.” The fundraiser will cover “immediate housing expenses and prevent eviction.” “The goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so that he can stay in his home and have the space he needs to get back on his feet,” explains the fundraiser. “Any donation, regardless of the amount, will really make a difference.” The GoFundMe campaign is being managed by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s team. “Mickey is going through a very difficult time, and it has been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help him,” Jones told The Hollywood Reporter.
