Rome, 8 January 2026 (LaPresse) – In 2025, the Italian box office took in €496,552,723 for a total of 68,361,056 tickets sold. This is according to the report “Cinema in theatres in 2025, box office data” by Cinetel, presented today in Rome. The result is in line with 2024 (+0.5% box office takings and -2% admissions) and with 2023 (+0.2% box office takings and -3.2% admissions). Domestic production performed well, accounting for 32.7% of box office takings and 33.3% of admissions in 2025. The highest box office takings of the year and the best result for domestic production were achieved by “Buen Camino”, Checco Zalone’s return to the cinema, which has grossed £36 million for over 4.4 million admissions since its release on Christmas Day. International offerings were less lucrative and significant at the box office. In 2025, American productions accounted for 40.6% of box office takings and 39.4% of admissions, for a total of €201.4 million (-24.7% compared to 2024) and 26.9 million admissions (-25.9%).
