2026 Oscars: Sinners sets record with 15 nominations

Milan, 22 January (LaPresse) – Sinners, Ryan Coogler’s epic blues-infused vampire film, led all films with 15 nominations at the 98th Academy Awards, setting a record for the most nominations in Oscar history. On Thursday, voters from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences showered Sinners with more nominations than ever before, surpassing the record of 14 nominations set by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land. In addition to Best Picture, Coogler was also nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, while actor Michael B. Jordan, who played dual roles, was rewarded with his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Paul Thomas Anderson’s groundbreaking father-daughter saga “Battle at Black Rock” came in second with 13 nominations.
