On stage at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, the Bulgarian singer gave her country its first historic victory in the European competition. Israel came in second place, amid protests including a pro-Palestine march that brought about 3,000 people into the streets of the Austrian capital. Romania, meanwhile, finished in third place. Italy came in fifth with Sal Da Vinci, whose performance was well-received by the audience.
