Rome, June 18 (LaPresse) – As part of the celebrations marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi and on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, the Italian Embassy in France and the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris will host an exceptional concert by Angelo Branduardi in the garden of the Hôtel de Galliffet. Branduardi is one of the most beloved and respected performers of Italian music. An artist with an extraordinary career, capable of combining poetry, folk tradition and musical research, Branduardi has built over more than fifty years a unique repertoire that holds a special place in the history of Italian and international music. Accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Fabio Valdemarin, his long-time collaborator, Branduardi will present an intimate acoustic concert featuring some of his most famous songs alongside pieces dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. A significant part of the programme will be devoted to compositions from L’infinitamente piccolo, the album released in 2000 and inspired by the life and writings of the Saint of Assisi. Through songs such as Il Cantico delle Creature and Il lupo di Gubbio, the concert conveys the poetic strength and contemporary relevance of the Franciscan message, founded on peace and fraternity. Alongside these works, the audience will be able to rediscover some of the great classics that made Angelo Branduardi famous, in a performance alternating storytelling, memory and timeless musical suggestions.
