Milan, 22 June (LaPresse) – The composition of the international jury for the Competition section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival (2–12 September 2026) has been finalised. According to a statement from the Biennale, the decision was taken by the Biennale’s Board of Directors, which endorsed the proposal put forward by the Festival’s Artistic Director, Alberto Barbera. Chaired – as previously announced on 23 April – by the American director, actress, screenwriter and producer Maggie Gyllenhaal, the international jury for the Venice 83 Competition will also comprise: the Tunisian director and screenwriter Kaouther Ben Hania, the British composer and artist Daniel Blumberg, Italian university lecturer Francesco Casetti, French director and screenwriter Xavier Giannoli, Afghan director and screenwriter Shahrbanoo Sadat, and Hong Kong director and producer Johnnie To.
