Rome, July 12. (LaPresse) – “This evening I too will watch a rerun of Report on RaiPlay, because I believe it is right to highlight the gravity of Rai’s decision to suspend reruns of Report. I believe RAI is disregarding the service contract it has signed with you citizens, which states that investigative journalism must be valued and protected, and they do everything except value and protect one of the public service’s flagship programs on investigative journalism, which is Report. This is what M5S Senator Barbara Floridia said on her social media channels. “I believe that the systematic occupation of all spaces at RAI, essentially by the Brothers of Italy party, with parts of the League and Forza Italia, is extremely serious. It is putting many RAI professionals, independents, of other sensibilities, in great and serious difficulty. They are marginalized, even parked, and unable to work. This is beyond damage, in my opinion, in economic management, it is also damage to citizens who deprive themselves of great and good professionals, like so many others there are good ones who work,” he continues. “And information manipulation is what’s most serious about a democracy, if we want to call it democracy, a system in which parliamentary committees, which are supposed to represent all citizens, don’t function, or are in the hands of Giorgia Meloni’s propaganda, so that it can always maintain primacy, so that it can maintain consensus,” he continues. You don’t play with democracy, you don’t play with citizens’ freedom, so let’s be careful, let’s remain vigilant. The resignation, and I thank you for your support, the beautiful messages of solidarity, the resignation as president of the RAI supervisory commission were in fact a denunciation of a situation that had been going on for two years, in which the majority, with the arrogance of power, boycotted the functioning of the commission.”
