Rome, 13 Aug. (LaPresse) – The 71st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the coastal city of Burgas, as has just been announced by the EBU and the Bulgarian public broadcaster BNT. The decision came as a surprise to many fans of the contest, given that Sofia was considered the undisputed favourite to host the event. However, Burgas’s bid had gained ground in recent days and ultimately prevailed over the Bulgarian capital, thus securing the title of host city. Along with the city, the organisers have also announced the dates of the competition. The first semi-final will take place on Tuesday 11 May, the second semi-final on Thursday 13 May, and the final on Saturday 15 May.
