Milan, 25 Aug. (LaPresse) – Fabio Grossi, actor and director, and partner of Leo Gullotta, has died. Grossi was 68. Following his film debut in 1981 in the film ‘Mia moglie torna a scuola’, he appeared in numerous ‘sexy comedy’ films, including Carlo Vanzina’s ‘I fichissimi’, ‘Pierino contro tutti’, ‘I carabbimatti’ and ‘L’onorevole con l’amante sotto il letto’. On television, he appeared in various programmes, making his debut in 1980 alongside Giancarlo Nicotra in the programme ‘Black Out’, followed by ‘Signori si parte’, ‘Happy Circus’, ‘Che fai… ridi?!’, ‘Sotto le stelle’, ‘Crazy Boat’, ‘Candid Camera Show’ and many others. Grossi worked in theatre, first as an actor and later also as a director. In 2000, in Rome, he wrote and directed a play for the Piccolo Eliseo theatre based on the tragedy of Oedipus and Jocasta, entitled ‘Figlio di madre vedova’. In June 2003, he staged the production ‘Lapilli – Suoni e voci dall’isola’, starring Leo Gullotta. For the 2005/2006 theatre season, he directed Luigi Pirandello’s ‘L’uomo, la bestia e la virtù’ with Gullotta for the Teatro Eliseo. In the summer of 2010, he directed William Shakespeare’s ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’, in which Gullotta played Falstaff. In 2012, in a production with the Teatro Stabile di Catania, he directed ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ starring Gullotta.
