The focus will be on the projects.” Sanremo artistic director Stefano De Martino explained this during the press conference presenting the ‘2027 regulations’ for the Festival. “Having a number of artists (ed.) for each gender would mean betraying the Festival’s focus, namely concentrating on music and having good songs,” he explained. “There will be 24 artists competing, 23 Big artists and one coming from Sanremo Giovani, and there will still be 24 despite anyone telling me that I will then expand the lineup,” De Martino added. “Starting this year, it will also be possible to vote online. Each online user can cast a maximum of three votes. We are working on the percentages to ensure a good balance with telephone voting,” he continued. “The goal is to have a great Italian lineup that stands on its own; an international artist should be the icing on the cake.
