(LaPresse) – Elisabetta Sgarbi and Sabrina Colle, the sister and partner respectively of Vittorio Sgarbi, have spoken out about the historian and art critic’s state of health: “We are witnessing a constant stream of false reports regarding the health of Vittorio Sgarbi (which are also seriously damaging to his personal dignity), who has been hospitalised at the Gemelli since 30 September 2026 with pneumonia and consequent severe respiratory failure. We urge members of the media to refer to the official bulletins issued by Gemelli Hospital itself and to refrain from spreading unverified reports, bearing in mind that a guardianship judge of the Republic has already ruled in favour of Vittorio Sgarbi’s full cognitive capacity with regard to the day-to-day management of his affairs and his personal care: ‘… ‘There can be no doubt as to the beneficiary’s ability to manage all matters relating to daily activities and the ordinary management of his health and assets, thereby ruling out, beyond any doubt, the need to establish a guardianship arrangement concerning the care of his health and the ordinary management of his assets’”. “We do not intend, at this time, to respond in any way to these rumours, neither in the forums that are venturing to host them nor elsewhere, because, at this moment, our priority is to be by Vittorio’s side every day, at such a delicate time for him and for those who love him, and to provide support, as far as possible, to the doctors who are treating him to the best of their ability,” the statement adds.
