Turin: Raid at Meisino Park to Block Construction, 39 People Under Investigation

Milano, March 11 (LaPresse) – There are 39 individuals under investigation for aggravated private violence and damage for blocking the construction of the Education and Environmental Sports Center of the Municipality of Turin in the Meisino Park. The suspects are accused of 14 separate incidents where they obstructed workers and, in some cases, damaged fences. The project, costing 11.5 million euros from PNRR funds, involves the construction of 20 sports facilities surrounded by greenery. The work began on September 6, amid protests from the Save the Meisino Committee. In September, demonstrators attempted to block the workers, but escorted by the police, they continued the construction at the former racetrack, which, according to the project, will be the future operational base of the new sports-environmental center.
