Rome, 24th March (LaPresse) – Negligent disaster and injury. These are the charges with which the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the explosion of the building in the Gianicolense district, between Via Pio Foà and Via Vitellia, which occurred yesterday morning following a probable gas leak. In the explosion, a 54-year-old Scottish man suffered burns to 70% of his body and is currently hospitalised at the specialised burns unit of the Sant'Eugenio hospital. The Carabinieri of the Trastevere company, together with the fire brigade, have sent an initial report to the assistant prosecutor Giovanni Conzo who is coordinating the investigation. Yesterday, some of the owners of the properties affected by the explosion and the manager of the B&B on the first floor where the injured man resided were interviewed. The building is still under seizure.
