Naples, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – Pro-Palestinian protest at the Milan City Council. Some activists seated in the public area interrupted the session, shouting “Free Palestine” and displaying Palestinian flags. City Council President Elena Buscemi suspended the session, requesting that the activists be escorted out of the chamber so the meeting could resume. After a few minutes, the session continued with the intervention of Councilor Gianmaria Radice of the ‘Reformists Working for Milan’ group, who had previously been interrupted: “We are an elected assembly that debates in respect of the Constitution and democracy. When we are interrupted by demonstrations, justified or not, this is an attack on democracy. I hope that colleagues, even from the majority, who have repeatedly insisted on defending such attitudes, will reconsider. I trust that the local police have proceeded to identify those who interrupted the session.”
