Milan, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – Filippo Turetta, sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance for the femicide of Giulia Cecchettin and in prison since November 2023, was assaulted in his cell by another inmate.
The news, initially reported by L’Arena, has been confirmed to LaPresse by prison police sources. The assault reportedly occurred at the end of August, when Turetta, who had been transferred to a unit with the general prison population, was punched by a 55-year-old man.
The attacker was later moved to an isolation cell. When contacted by LaPresse, Turetta’s lawyer, Giovanni Caruso, did not confirm the incident.
