Grillo Jr. case, all 4 defendants convicted of sexual assault

Cagliari, Sept. 22 (LaPresse) – The panel of the Tempio Pausania court, presided over by Judge Marco Contu, after three hours of deliberation, convicted all four defendants of sexual assault. Ciro Grillo, son of Beppe, founder of the Five Star Movement, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria were sentenced to 8 years in prison, while Francesco Corsiglia received 6 years and 6 months. “We are very disappointed; we reiterate that we are convinced of our innocence. We will continue with the subsequent levels of appeal. We are waiting for the reasoning behind the verdict and will obviously file an appeal afterwards. We did not expect this ruling,” said Enrico Grillo, lawyer for Ciro Grillo.
