Vatican City (Vatican), 23 September (LaPresse) – Recognition of Palestine ‘could help, but at the moment there is no willingness on the other side to listen, and so dialogue has broken down’ and ‘the campaign in Gaza City continues’. This was Pope Leo XIV’s statement to journalists as he left Villa Barberini in Castel Gandolfo before returning to the Vatican. Prevost emphasised that ‘we must work towards a two-state solution’. Finally, the Pope said that he had communicated with the Parish of Gaza.
