Workplace accident: worker dies after being crushed by bale in Chieti

L’Aquila, Sept. 23 (LaPresse) – Workplace accident around 1 a.m. at Prima Eastern in Torino di Sangro, in the province of Chieti. A 52-year-old worker from Vasto (Chieti) died after being crushed by a heavy sack at the plastic components company. The man was transporting a one-ton jute bale with a forklift when it reportedly fell and crushed him. Emergency services arrived immediately, but there was nothing they could do. The Vasto Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to clarify the incident. Carabinieri and inspectors from the local health authority (ASL) are conducting inquiries.
