Garlasco murder case, prosecutor: “Irregularities in investigations against Sempio”

Milan, Sept. 26 (LaPresse) – The 2017 investigations into Andrea Sempio were reportedly marked by “a series of irregularities,” including “the omission of the transcription of some relevant passages from the environmental wiretaps” by the judicial police then in charge of the investigation, and “opaque contacts” with the same judicial police officers, Carabinieri Giuseppe Spoto and Silvio Sapone (respectively officer and head of the PG Section), who are also under investigation today by the Brescia Prosecutor’s Office. According to the search warrant viewed by LaPresse, Sapone and Spoto allegedly had contacts with the Sempio family before their hearing at the Prosecutor’s Office.

Among the elements defined as anomalous by deputy prosecutor Claudia Moregola and prosecutor Francesco Prete were also the “short duration” of Sempio’s interrogation and the conclusion of the investigation note from March 2017, using a formula described as “tranchant” regarding the “complete absence of evidence supporting the accusatory hypotheses” against Sempio.
