Naples, 30 September (LaPresse) – Little Zakaria, a one-year-old boy from the Gaza Strip, arrived at the Santobono Hospital in Naples during the night. He arrived in Italy at Ciampino Airport as part of the medical corridor coordinated by the Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Unit with the support of the Cross of Pistoia. Accompanied by his parents and siblings, he boarded a 118 ambulance from ASL Napoli 1 Centro at Ciampino, which transferred him and his family to Santobono-Pausilipon Paediatric Hospital. Here, Zakaria, who weighs just over 7 kg, was immediately welcomed by the medical staff and underwent his first medical examinations. The little boy is currently hospitalised, together with his mother, in the Complex Operational Unit of General Paediatrics and Dermo-Immuno-Rheumatology, where all the necessary clinical tests are being carried out to determine the diagnostic and therapeutic pathway. His father and the other four family members will be accommodated in one of the lodgings provided by the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation, which is closely monitoring all aspects related to the reception and support of the family. The Campania Region monitored all stages of the delicate transfer.
