Milan, 8 October (LaPresse) – Andrea Sempio’s lawyer, Massimo Lovati, is under investigation for aggravated defamation following a lawsuit filed by Alberto Stasi’s former defence lawyers from the Giarda law firm for describing the new investigation by the Pavia Public Prosecutor’s Office into the Garlasco murder, in which his client is under investigation, as a “plot by the Giarda defence”. This statement was made to several cameras and microphones on 13 March 2025, the day Sempio went to the Carabinieri in Milan for a saliva sample. The Milan public prosecutor, Fabio De Pasquale, has already issued and notified Lovati of the conclusion of the preliminary investigations, a step that precedes a probable request for indictment. De Pasquale is the same prosecutor who requested and obtained the dismissal of Professor Angelo Giarda, now deceased, Stasi’s long-time defence lawyer and father of Fabio and Enrico Giarda, who was reported years ago by Lovati and Sempio for the DNA sampling carried out by the private investigation company SKP in 2016 without the consent of Marco Poggi’s friend. According to LaPresse, the Giardas are now also considering new legal action based on statements made by Sempio’s defence lawyer against the firm during the recent episode of “Falsissimo” with Fabrizio Corona.
