Venezuela, Trentini calls home. Family members: ‘Glimmer of hope’

Naples, 9 October (LaPresse) – Alberto Trentini, a Venetian aid worker detained for almost a year in Venezuela, was able to call home. ‘It is the third phone call in almost 11 months of detention,’ emphasise Trentini’s family members with lawyer Alessandra Ballerini. Trentini, explain his family and lawyer, “advised his parents to take care of themselves and assured them that he is strong. He wanted to thank all the people who have been close to him in recent months and reiterated his affection for his loved ones. This phone call, which follows our ambassador’s visit to the prison and the arrival of a Venezuelan delegation in Rome, offers a glimmer of hope. And in these 327 days, our faith has never wavered. Thank you to those who are working alongside us for Alberto’s release,” they conclude.
