Illegal hiring, Della Valle: ‘It’s nonsense, trust in the judiciary’

Capri (Naples), 11 October (LaPresse) – “To say that illegal hiring exists in worlds like ours is utter nonsense. Come and see our companies, we organise visits. Our companies do not exploit anyone. Illegal hiring concerns other worlds, not us. It is offensive to compare us to these things.” These were the words of Diego della Valle, president and CEO of Tod’s, speaking at the 40th Confindustria Youth Conference in Capri, referring to the request for judicial administration against the company for having negligently facilitated, according to the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office, illegal hiring along its supply chain. ‘I say to Paolo Storari, the prosecutor in charge of our company, come and visit us. It’s not usual, but I would say let’s make it usual. Come and visit us and use it as an internship. Look at the companies, and you will see that they are companies made up of decent people, who almost always come from the world of work,’ he insists.
