Milan, 13 October (LaPresse) – Clashes outside Palazzo Marino, seat of the Milan City Council, after the chamber voted to reject an agenda item calling for an end to the twinning with Tel Aviv and ‘all forms of institutional and research cooperation between the City of Milan and the State of Israel’ . The vote was met with protests from those present in the public gallery, leading to the suspension of the session, while outside, several hundred demonstrators attempted to break through the police cordon protecting the entrance to the building. The attempt was repelled by police in riot gear. The demonstrators then moved on in a procession.
