Road accidents, head-on collision between cars in Bologna area: 7-year-old boy dies

Bologna, Oct 23 (LaPresse) – Tragedy last night on the Porrettana road in Lovoleto, a hamlet of Granarolo dell’Emilia (BO), where a 7-year-old boy lost his life in a car accident. Around 9 p.m., a Volkswagen Corrado and a Renault Clio collided head-on. Inside the Volkswagen were the victim’s father, 34, and the child, who — according to initial reports — was in the front seat, seated in a child safety seat. The victim and his father are of Albanian origin and live in Minerbio. The driver of the Clio, a 20-year-old, was injured. Early information suggests that one of the vehicles, to avoid a motorcycle turning toward a gas station, entered the opposite lane, causing the collision. The cars went off the road. Emergency medical responders from 118 and the Carabinieri of the San Lazzaro di Savena Company arrived on the scene and conducted investigations to accurately reconstruct the accident.
