Vatican: tomorrow, over 40 transgender people will have lunch with Pope Leo XIV

Vatican City (Vatican), 15 Nov. (LaPresse) – Tomorrow, during a lunch organised at the Vatican as part of the Day of the Poor, Pope Leo will dine with over 40 trans people. This was confirmed to LaPresse by Don Andrea Conocchia, parish priest of Torvaianica, who will be present at the event. For the priest, this invitation will be ‘a wonderful opportunity, an important occasion’ for learning. ‘We are deeply grateful to the Pope,’ Don Conocchia added, pointing out that the lunch for the poor places Prevost ‘in continuity’ with Pope Francis. The people of Torvaianica who will be present ‘are fragile, they live in hardship. Being with the Pope is a source of great hope and consolation. Of closeness,’ the parish priest concluded.
