Milan, 20 November (LaPresse) – A six-month ban on Tod’s advertising its products, a prohibitive measure to curb “Tod’s deliberate blindness” to “the exploitation of workers in need”, such as 53 Chinese workers in six factories belonging to suppliers and subcontractors inspected by the Carabinieri’s Labour Protection Unit between 15 October 2024 and 27 May 2025 in Milan, Vigevano and Macerata. The Milan Preliminary Investigating Magistrate’s Office, which will decide in the hearing notified for 3 December to the non-investigated legal representative Diego Della Valle by the investigating magistrate Domenico Santoro, was asked to do so on 29 October by the Public Prosecutor’s Office after acquiring “significant results” from audits commissioned in the past by Tod’s to its certifier “Veritas Bureau”, but then ignored by Tod’s despite the “marked serious violations” involving “15 suppliers in 2023, 24 in 2024 and 28 in 2025”.
