Rome, 21 Nov. (LaPresse) – Trump’s plan? “Peace must involve all parties in order to be fair and resolve the causes of the conflict. You cannot make peace without Ukraine.‘ This was stated to La Repubblica by Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi, president of the Italian Episcopal Conference and Vatican envoy to Ukraine. On the possible cession of Ukrainian territories, the cardinal said: ’Negotiations must combine realism, a view to the future and the law. This is precisely the subject of the negotiations, where, however, everyone must lose and win something. Only in this way can peace be achieved, otherwise it would be a surrender.‘ Zuppi then announced that Iryna Verescuk, deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine, ’has submitted a formal request from President Zelensky for the Holy See’s involvement in the exchange of prisoners, both military and civilian, and to continue its commitment to children.”
