Rome: Investigating magistrate reserves judgement on dismissal of Totti and Noemi Bocchi case for child neglect

Rome, 1 December (LaPresse) – The investigating magistrate of the Court of Rome has reserved his decision on the request to dismiss the case involving Francesco Totti, his current partner Noemi Bocchi and their nanny (also accused of forgery) for the crime of child abandonment. The Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office had requested the dismissal of the case against the former Roma captain, accused of leaving his daughter alone for several hours on an afternoon in May 2023. The alleged abandonment of his daughter was reported by his ex-wife Ilary Blasi. The nanny of the building is under investigation because she is suspected of having falsely claimed to have been at home with the minor that afternoon. According to the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, however, there was never any real danger because the child had a phone with her to contact her mother, she was in an environment where there were also older children and the babysitter, as verified by the police who intervened at Blasi’s request. Blasi’s lawyers argue that the child was alone in the flat and that the nanny had no formal assignment. Totti’s ex-wife’s lawyers have opposed the request to dismiss the case. The decision will be made in the coming days.
