Ex Ilva: fifth day of strike in Genoa as talks at the Ministry are awaited

Genoa, 5 December (LaPresse) – Fifth day of strike for former Ilva workers in Genoa, who have been downing tools since Monday to demand guarantees on the future of productivity and employment under the Lanterna. A meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Ministry of Enterprise in Rome, with local authorities in attendance. The workers remained on picket duty last night at the Cornigliano protest site, awaiting news after yesterday’s mobilisation, march and tensions. The request is for 45,000 tonnes of material, coils, to be sent from Taranto to Genoa to continue with the processing of galvanised steel, which would guarantee the continuation of operations until February.
