Milan, 18 December (LaPresse) – Alberto Stasi also made a surprise arrival in Pavia, where the preliminary hearing on the Garlasco murder is scheduled to take place today. Stasi, convicted of the murder of Chiara Poggi on 13 August 2007, arrived accompanied by his lawyers without making any statements. ‘He wants to show respect for the judicial authorities, and I believe that is the right attitude to take, respect and interest,’ he said. ‘I will not comment on the merits of the case; we must go in and each party must do its duty. Alberto will not make any statements upon leaving either; he just wanted to be there.’
