Milan, Dec. 22 (LaPresse) – A 15-year-old boy was held “hostage” by a gang of robbers in downtown Milan, in the Corso Buenos Aires area. The teenager, who was with some friends, was approached by a group of youths who stole his phone, jacket, shoes and sweater. The group also took a prepaid card, but after determining that there was no money on it, they returned and, under threat with a metal object, forced the 15-year-old to call his father to make a top-up, threatening to kill the boy. It was the boy’s father who realized something was wrong and alerted emergency number 112. The four attackers — one 20-year-old and three minors, including a girl — attempted to flee on foot in different directions upon seeing Carabinieri patrols, but were chased down and stopped after resisting arrest. One of those arrested also used a glass bottle during a scuffle with officers to threaten them and try to evade control, but was nonetheless restrained. All those arrested, in a significant state of impairment due to the use of psychotropic substances, required medical treatment to mitigate the effects. The stolen items were fully recovered and returned to the unharmed victim. The suspects were taken to Milan’s San Vittore prison and the Beccaria juvenile detention center.
