Rome, Dec. 28 (LaPresse) – “The Italian Defence continues to provide bilateral support to Ukraine through the supply of materials, vehicles, and military equipment authorised by the 11 interministerial decrees, for a total value of over 3 billion euros.” This is what General Luciano Portolano, Chief of the Defence Staff, said in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore on the eve of the Council of Ministers called to approve the decree-law for the renewal of support to Kyiv.
Regarding a possible Italian contribution in the post-conflict phase, he explained, “It will be up to the political authorities to determine the timing and methods in which Italy may participate. We will be ready.”
