Milan, Jan. 1 (LaPresse) – “We have the first three injured Italians on their way. We have sent our Areu rescue helicopters, and Piedmont has also sent a helicopter to support ours. They landed at the hospital in Sion, in Switzerland, where we already had three young people with serious burns who were nevertheless transportable, so together with the medical staff we decided to transfer them here immediately to the burns unit at Niguarda Hospital. They are three young people, a girl who is not even 30 yet and two very young 16‑year‑olds,” said Lombardy regional Welfare councillor Guido Bertolaso, speaking to reporters at Niguarda Hospital in Milan after the Crans-Montana tragedy in Switzerland, the fire in a bar in which more than 40 people lost their lives and over 100 were injured. “They are intubated, in fairly serious condition, but not critical. Our team is already waiting for them. At the burns centre we have called back all the staff, with 18 beds ready,” he added.
