Milan, 6 January (LaPresse) – The investigation launched by the State Police, under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bologna, into the murder of Alessandro Ambrosio, the 34-year-old train conductor stabbed to death yesterday, led to the identification, a few hours after the incident, of a person of interest already known to the Railway Police for previous offences relating to the carrying of bladed weapons. The individual in question is Jelenic Marin, a Croatian citizen born in 1989, with no fixed abode or ties to Italy, who has been identified on several occasions in railway areas throughout northern Italy. The investigation, which has been ongoing since late yesterday afternoon, has made it possible, thanks to the numerous video surveillance systems in the station area, to monitor the victim’s arrival at the station, where he was followed for a significant period of time and apparently without reason by the person of interest. Active searches are underway to locate the person of interest.
