Rome, Jan. 19 (LaPresse) – An obsessive, continuous surveillance carried out in the days immediately preceding the crime. Mark Samson spied on and tracked, using mobile devices, every ‘digital’ movement of Ilaria Sula, reading messages and conversations in real time. This emerged in the Rebibbia bunker courtroom in Rome, where the hearing for the trial of the 24-year-old, who has confessed to the murder of the student, took place before the third criminal section. Ilaria Sula disappeared on March 25, 2025, and was found dead on April 2 in a trolley thrown down a ravine in the municipality of Capranica Prenestina, in the province of Rome.
The circumstance was reported by the technical consultant appointed by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, who presented the results of the analyses carried out on the seized electronic devices, including the victim’s and the defendant’s mobile phones, the computer, and the dashcam installed on Samson’s car. According to the reconstruction, the young man “spied on and followed the movements and messages” of the girl, particularly monitoring conversations on messaging apps and social media.
